If you enjoy a cocktail ever so often, keep your cash out of the casino if you are going to do your consuming in a casino. I’m serious. Clean out your pocketbook, your billfold, and keep all cash, credit cards and checkbooks out of the casino. Pack only the money you expect to use on beverages, tips and whatever pocket change you anticipate to throw away and leave the remainder behind.

Cynical? Not by any means. Realistic more like. You might experience a win following a drunken evening out with your acquaintances and be lucky enough to hook a long roll at a hot craps table. Hang on to that adventure seeing that it’s as short-lived as it gets if you regularly drink and bet. The pair simply don’t mix.

Keeping your money back at the hotel might be a little drastic, but defensive measures for excessive actions is a requirement. If you play to win, then don’t drink alcohol and play. If you can afford to toss away your $$$$ without a concern, then drink all the gratis booze your stomach can handle, but do not pack credit cards and cheques to toss into the mix of going after losses after your drunken head throws away all the cash!
